Changes to my podcast – Ads on my podcast.

Changes to my podcast were inevitable.  Yes, I know that nobody loves ads. You’d rather listen to me ramble, and tease without popups or advertisements. But the reality is due to censorship, I can’t use most social media.  So, I post my videos here, on my website, but that means I have expenses to cover.  In order to keep the lights on; there’s going to be ads when you start the video.

Censorship has done this

Censorship makes sure that I will never be paid by any social media platform. The algorithms don’t like me. The platforms don’t want me. Apparently a blonde in a crop top having a little too much fun is considered “dangerous.” Go figure.

So, what does that leave me with? This blog. My little corner of the Internet where I can still speak freely. But freedom, my darlings, isn’t free. The more popular my blog and podcast get, the more the upkeep costs me. Hosting fees, bandwidth, equipment, it all adds up.  Since my efforts have yet to garner the attention of  a billionaire sugar daddy, those bills still land in my lap. So, I’ve gone with ads to offset the cost of operation.

Now before you roll your eyes and mutter about selling out, let me explain. The ads keep the free version alive. They pay the bills, so you can still tune in without having to cough up a dime. But here’s where it gets interesting: I’m not stopping there. Oh no, Blonde Tabu always has a Plan B.

I’m launching a second podcast, one that will be behind a paywall. Why? Because that’s where the real fun begins. On this new show, I can dive into the kinds of adult conversations that the censors and the Karens can’t touch. I’ll be able to talk openly about the topics the algorithms hate, sex, relationships, culture, the messy reality of being human, without worrying that some buttoned-up hall monitor is about to flag my content.

Think of it as the after-party to the free version. The first podcast is the cocktail hour, light, playful, maybe a little flirty. But bookended with ads. The second podcast? That’s where I kick off my heels, and probably all my other clothes. No censorship, no judgment, just a space for grown-ups to be grown-ups.

So if you want to stick with the free version, it’s not going anywhere, but the ads stay. You’ll still get me, you’ll still get stories, you’ll still get laughs. Because when the world says “tone it down,” you know me, I just turn it up.
